Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes Constituency

Following review by the Parliamentary Boundary Commission which started in 2020 and eventually reported its final recommendations in 2023 the ‘new’ parliamentary constituency of ‘Grimsby and Cleethorpes emerged. 

This new constituency is the amalgamation of two former distinct yet interconnected constituencies, Cleethorpes and Great Grimsby, both deeply rooted in Britain’s maritime heritage.

Geography and Main Areas

The new constituency envelops both Grimsby, renowned for its port and fishing heritage, and Cleethorpes, a classic British seaside resort. 

Key areas include:

Grimsby Town Centre and Freeman Street: Serving as a central hub for retail and services.

Grimsby Docks: Once the biggest fishing dock in the world it now serves as a world center for renewable energy being the home of the operation and maintenance teams for the UK’s largest offshore wind farms. 

Cleethorpes Seafront: The seaside resort with its charming beach and pier.

The Council wards of: Yarborough (10), South (8), Freshney (3), East Marsh (2), West Marsh (9), Park (6), Heneage (5), Humberston (4), Croft Baker (7) and Sidney Sussex (1).
